My friends laughed, why would you buy a sim fishing game?! Well because I can!
I bought the VR set and when I saw this game, I really wanted to go fishing.. I don't regret it.
On a giant lake, in a rowing boat, with beers and sandwiches, fishing rods, baits, a camera, hats, scale and 2 books, a "store" book and a book with information about the fish.
You own a cool box where you can toss your fish in so you can earn money and buy beers... and bait and rods and clothes.
It's an easy peasy lemon squeezy game, catch fish, that's all. Sun and rain, very relaxing...
BUT, The motion controllers are annoying when you need to put bait on your rod. I lost a lot of money tossing bait overboard.
Your hands wander around often and sometimes items in your boat are unable to grab. While trying I hit the arms of the chair I was sitting on,
the table and plants on the window sill. Yes I had enough gaming space, but trying to get noticed by the PS camera makes you do crazy stuff.
It's a bit scary for me, I suffer from thalassophobia and had a small fear that a giant monster would come to the surface (there is one noted in your book).
Catching small fish is easy to do, but bigger fish are hard to catch, but hey! you need some challenges and I got the hang of it eventually
Apart from the controller frustration every now and again, the surroundings are soothing, the gameplay simple and it will calm you down.
The fun meter acts like a relax meter too.
Beware: Don't get sucked in the game too deep, you'll faceplant on the ground thinking your grabbing the edge of the boat...
